Library
The Nashua, Squannacook, and Nissitissit Rivers Wild & Scenic Stewardship Council has an extensive library of materials from the Wild & Scenic Study Committee, documenting its activities to apply for and receive Wild & Scenic designation for our three rivers. Below are key documents from that process. Other materials are available upon request.
2013 National Park Service River Reconnaissance Survey of the Nashua River
A reconnaissance survey of the Nashua River was conducted by the Northeast Region of the National Park Service (NPS) at the request of US Representative Niki Tsongas (MA-3). Representative Tsongas requested that 14-miles of the Nashua River, 10-miles of the Squannacook River and 3.5-miles of the Nissitissit River be evaluated as a candidate for a potential Wild and Scenic River designation, and as a step toward a full Wild and Scenic River Study.
2014 Nashua River Wild and Scenic River Study Act Legislation
The bill introduced in the US House of Representatives by Representative Niki Tsongas to amend the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act to designate segments of the mainstem of the Nashua River and its tributaries in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for study for potential addition to the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System, and for other purposes.
